3. Research Responsibilities

• Improve existing termite control strategies, especially those of drywood termites, develop new control practices, and assess the physical dynamics of structural fumigants used to control drywood termites.
• Evaluate the methods used to detect and monitor termite activity in structures, and assess the distribution, damage potential, and infestation habits of structure-infesting termites.
• Contribute to the understanding of taxonomy, basic biology, chemical ecology, and behavior of the termites of Florida and its realm of influence and trade: the West Indies/Caribbean Basin and the southern Nearctic Region.

• Taxonomic and biogeographical survey of West Indies termites.
