Diaphorencyrtus aligarhensis (Shafee, Alam and Agarwal)

Diaphorencyrtus aligarhensis is an endoparasitoid of the Asian citrus psyllid, Diaphorina citri.

Adult wasps are 1.0 to 1.5 mm long. They have yellow legs and antennae. The head and thorax are black, and the abdomen is yellowish brown and darker at the posterior end.

The female wasp oviposits a single egg inside its host, and the larva feeds and pupates internally. The adult chews an exit hole through the dead host. The life cycle of this wasp is 16 to 18 days.

Imported from Vietnam, Diaphorencyrtus aligarhensis was released for classical biological control of Asian citrus psyllids in the United States.
