Florida Entomological Society Meeting

The 91st Annual Meeting of the Florida Entomological Society is scheduled for 13-16 July, 2008, at the Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa in Jupiter Beach, Florida. As of early May, four symposia are scheduled for the meeting:

A Termite Workshop (Rudi Scheffrahn) and a Honeybee Workshop are also planned.

Student Awards

The Florida Entomological Society will award selected student members with scholarships, minigrants and travel grants. Three $500 scholarships will be awarded to students majoring in entomology or a related discipline. Four $250 minigrants will be awarded to student members for entomological research. And travel grants will be allocated to assist students with the cost of attending the annual meeting. Students presenting posters and talks will have priority to receive these funds.

A competition will decide the best M.S and Ph.D. student papers. In each category, first place winners will receive $175, second place winners will receive $150, and third place winners will receive $125.
