Definition:

Solenopsis: A genus of ants. Some of the Solenopsis species are called (in the USA) fire ants. There are several native and immigrant species in the southern USA. They have a bad reputation because they sting painfully. One of the species, Solenopsis invicta, called the red imported fire ant, has received much more publicity than the others. It is not clear whether these ants are able to capture and kill healthy mole crickets.
