Responsibilities include nematode identification for regulatory certifications programs for citrus and ornamental plants; diagnosis of role of nematodes in plant problems referred to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services by Plant Protection and Environmental Specialists, growers, nursery managers, or homeowners; training and consulting with Plant and Environmental Specialists in regulatory issues relating to nematodes.

Employed with the FDACS since 1978. Other experience includes five years with the University of Wisconsin International Programs working on soybean diseases at the Brazilian National Soybean Center, two years with the University of Georgia International Programs, and short term consulting experience in Brazil, Zimbabwe, and the People's Republic of China.

Current research interests include: (1) the biology of foliar nematodes and their interaction with bacterial pathogens, and (2) the control of nematode pests with copepods.
